Short Biography Steven Clift is the Director of the new Democracies Online project. He is the Co-Editor of the G7 Government Online and Democracy White Paper which will be released this fall. In 1994 he started Minnesota E-Democracy, a non-profit, non-partisan effort which established the world's first election-oriented WWW site. From December, 1994 through July, 1997 he coordinated the State of Minnesota's Government Online North Star Project which recently received one million dollars from the Minnesota legislature. Through the establishment of Democracies Online he will now focus on broader opportunities and challenges related to the convergence of democracy and the Internet.
