Jesse Ventura      Response 11

Question 11: What are the top challenges facing your campaign in the coming weeks?

My top challenge is raising the money I need to advertise my message
statewide. I want everybody in Minnesota to know that they don't have
to waste their vote once again by voting for career politicians. I
want everyone to know that they can make a huge difference in
Minnesota politics by getting out to the polls on election day and
voting for Jesse Ventura. But it takes money to advertise this
message. My top challenge is to raise this money.

I'm told I'm shocking the Democrats and Republicans with the strong
grass-roots support I am earning from the voters. Because of that
support, my campaign committee is now on track to receive $310,000 in
public campaign finance money. But we won't receive it until after the
election. The wording of the law that regulates this $310,000 makes
banks reluctant to lend money to my campaign against the $310,000. The
law even limits me from lending large amounts of money to my own
campaign.

I don't accept special interest PAC money, so I'm turning to my
supporters once again. Under the law, individuals can lend up to
$2,000 to my campaign, which I plan to repay by year end when the
state sends the $310,000. Loan details, terms, and conditions are
posted on my web site at: http://www.jesseventura.org/loaninfo.htm.

My ads are ready to go. If 150 people make a short-term $2,000 loan to
my campaign committee, I can run a statewide ad blitz in the closing
weeks of the campaign that will rival those of my two major opponents.
