Ted Mondale       Rebuttal 6

Question 6:
Tell us why you would make the best Governor for the State of
Minnesota.  What kind of "team" would you put together if elected?
Also, what is the worst idea you have heard one of your opponents in
this race support, and why?

In your rebuttal include a response to this question:  If you face an
endorsement or primary challenge, why would you be the best candidate
for your party?   In closing, please include information on how
interested readers can contact your campaign to volunteer and get more
information.

MONDALE Rebuttal 6:

I believe that I am the best candidate for the DFL party in November.

In order to win in November, the DFL needs a candidate with the
ability and the energy to articulate a new direction for the state.

I am that candidate because I have proven my ability to connect with a
broad group of Minnesotans.  Traditional labels just do not matter to
a majority of Minnesotans anymore - they are more interested in what
you believe in and what you can do to make government work better in
their lives - than what name people can pin to you.

Also, I have been told, by more than one republican, that I am Norm
Coleman's worst nightmare in November, and that is something that all
DFLers need to stand up and take notice of for the rest of this race
now that his entry is official.

We need a Democrat in the governor's office in 1999, and I have the
best chance to be there once the race narrows to a DFLer vs. Norm
Coleman on September 16th of this year.

Thank you very much to the E-Democracy team for the excellent work
with this debate.  It is very exciting to have been part of this
historic effort.
