Local Issues Meetup
Do you like to discuss local issues? Looking for some open dialogue on your community?
Are you a member of a locally
focused online forum looking for a way to easily meet in-person?
If yes, then sign
up here to Meetup with your fellow citizens for conversations about
local public issues in your community.
This is your chance to meet
people with diverse perspectives who care about the same place you live. Finally a chance for regular conversations without partisan divides or political agendas. Simply a safe place for dialogue and discussion of local public issues.
The Local
Issues Meetup gathers at 7:00 p.m. on the first Thursday of every month at a location choosen by those who register.
Tell Others
Promote the
Local
Issues Meetup on your e-mail list and web forum in order to easily organize
in-person gatherings on a monthly basis.
If you are active on a neighborhood
e-mail list, share the link http://e-democracy.org/meetup or http://localissues.meetup.com.
If you work with the web, place
a link on a local civic, government, media, weblog, or any web site
with locally interested visitors.
Know others? Simply tell
a few friends who might be interested in this opportunity to gather
once a month for conversations on local issues.
Join the Partnership
Join the Local
Issues Partnership organized by E-Democracy.Org. We will initially
use the new Local Issues Meetup to encourage our online
forum members to continue their dynamic discussions offline. However,
we see these e-enabled gatherings as public effort that can provide real
value to many groups and citizens.
